Walter W. Ades passed away on October 21, 2018, at the Roseburg VA Medical Center, River House. Walter was born on January 21, 1935 (83 years old) in Boone, Iowa, to Clara (Hull) and Arnold Ades. He joined the army at 17 and chose to move to the Air Force when it was assembled. He was very proud of the 28 and half years that he served his country. His service took him to so many wonderful places. One of which was Germany where he met the love of his life, wife Helga. They just celebrated 60 years of marriage. After the air force, Walter worked for 21 years in the computer industry, for SCI Systems Incorporated. That job took both him and Helga from Eugene back to the south, to Alabama for 27 years and he retired down there. In 2011 they decided to come back to the Pacific Northwest. Since that time,he has loved his hobbies of: camping, gardening, genealogy and of course, his Koi pond. Walter is survived by his wife, Helga; his sister, Linda Busch of Memphis, TN; his two children, son, Daniel Roy Ades of Zirconia, NC; daughter, Patricia A. L and her husband Dean Laird of Eugene, OR; two grandchildren, Andrew Laird, of Eugene, OR and Devin Laird and his wife Kurumi of Lacey WA; and two great granddaughters, Kaelyn Faye and Ashton Rae and a ton of nieces and nephews. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Roseburg National Cemetery.
